The Amada Planter is a masterclass in biomimetic design, representing a departure from the sharp, industrial lines of its geometric cousins. While many modern planters aim for a digital or "parametric" look, the Amada is inspired by the soft, overlapping structures found in nature—specifically the scales of a pinecone, the petals of an artichoke, or the layered protection of an armadillo’s shell.

Design Philosophy: "The Layered Shield"
The defining characteristic of the Amada is its shingled, tiered exterior. Rather than a continuous surface, the pot is composed of rhythmic, overlapping plates that wrap around the vessel in a spiral or staggered formation.

Organic Movement: The "scales" create a sense of growth and protection. This layering adds a three-dimensional depth that makes the planter feel like a living, breathing object rather than a static container.

Tactile Sophistication: The Amada is a highly "touchable" piece. The ridges where the layers meet create a varied texture that catches the light in soft, crescent-shaped highlights.

Soft Geometry: While the pattern is mathematically precise, the overall silhouette is rounded and welcoming. It lacks "sharp" points, making it an ideal choice for homes with a softer, more "boho-chic" or organic-modern aesthetic.

Premium Materials & Finish
In its non-3D-printed form, the Amada is usually produced through high-detail casting to ensure the "overlap" of the scales remains crisp and defined:

Slip-Cast Stoneware: This is the most common high-end material for the Amada. The ceramic allows for a heavy, cool-to-the-touch feel. When finished with a reactive glaze, the color pools in the "valleys" of the scales, creating a stunning two-tone effect.

Hand-Finished Plaster or Gypsum: For a matte, bone-white look that resembles carved stone, high-density gypsum is used. This highlights the architectural shadows of the layers without the distraction of a shine.

Heavyweight Terra Cotta: A classic material that, when molded into the Amada shape, gives the "scales" a warm, Mediterranean feel that ages beautifully over time.
