The Belio Planter Pot
The Belio Planter is a sophisticated exploration of asymmetrical balance and "pinched" geometry. Unlike the rigid symmetry of the Pilas or the uniform spikes of the Anver, the Belio is designed to look like a vessel in transition. It is widely regarded as the "sculptor's planter," as its form mimics the appearance of a soft clay pot that has been masterfully manipulated by hand to create a series of elegant, vertical folds.
Design Philosophy: "The Compressed Accordion"
The Belio is defined by its irregular, deep-set vertical pleats. While the overall footprint is cylindrical, the walls are "pinched" at intervals to create a starburst or floral-inspired rim.
Soft Parametricism: The design uses mathematical curves to simulate organic compression. The folds are wider at the top and taper toward the base, creating a visual "bloom" effect that frames the plant.
Tension and Flow: The "valleys" of the pleats are deep, catching heavy shadows that contrast sharply against the "peaks" of the folds. This creates a sense of tension—as if the pot is being squeezed—giving it a high-energy presence in a room.
360-Degree Variation: Because the pleats are often spaced with slight variations, the Belio looks different from every angle. Rotating the pot just a few degrees can completely change the shadow profile and the way it interacts with your décor.
Premium Non-3D Printed Materials
To capture the Belio’s complex "pinched" rim and deep folds without the artificial look of plastic, artisans use materials that emphasize its heavy, stone-like quality:
High-Fire Porcelain: The most luxurious versions are slip-cast in fine porcelain. The thinness of the material allows for "razor-sharp" peaks on the folds, while the interior remains smooth. In a white matte finish, it resembles folded paper or high-end origami.
Cast Mineral Composites: A blend of resin and natural stone dust provides a "cool-to-the-touch" feel and significant weight. This material is ideal for the Belio because it can hold the deep, undercut shadows of the pleats without being brittle.
Pigmented Concrete: Using a dark charcoal or terracotta pigment in concrete gives the Belio a "brutalist-chic" vibe. The raw texture of the concrete highlights the shadows in the deep folds, making the geometry feel ancient yet modern.
